I am a PhD candidate in the Information and Languages Processing Systems group at the University of Amsterdam. I work under supervision of Christof Monz and co-supervision of Arianna Bisazza on statistical machine translation (SMT). So far, I've mostly focused on SMT for user-generated content as found on microblogs, weblogs, or in chat messages. For more details, visit my research page.

When I'm not working on my research, you can likely find me sporting (volleyball, bootcamp, running) or eating (Mediterranean and Asian cuisines are my favorites). Fortunately, these activities complement each other well.

I also have a cat en she has a twitter account, which is more actively used than my own. But then she also has much more spare time than I. One thing we do have in common is that we both like exploring the world around us, albeit on slightly different scales.
